EarthPan hard anodized cookware brings non-stick cookware that is not coated in PFOA or PTFE. This may seem like a good thing at first because other hard anodized lines, even those that come from big names like Cuisinart, do have this coating. Not only does this coating peel and flake, but it’s also acid, which can be harmful to health when it is ingested. But, that also doesn’t mean that EarthPan doesn’t use any kind of coating – they just use one that’s made from sand as it’s more eco-friendly. And although it may be better for the environment, and better for you if ingested, it can still flake and peel off, which makes these pots and pans not as durable as other types of anodized cookware.
The EarthPan hard anodized cookware set comes with ten different pieces. These are: a 6-quart stockpot, with lid; a small and medium-sized saucepan, both with lids; 2 omelet pans; and a wide-lipped skillet. All of the pieces are heat resistant up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit, meaning that they can go straight from the stovetop and into your oven with no resulting damage to the cookware. The lids are all also clear with steam vents so you’ll always know exactly where your food is at in the cooking process, and you won’t have to even take the lids off to check on it. And in addition to this, the EarthPan hard anodized cookware is also priced at $213.79, making it some of the cheapest hard anodized cookware you could buy.
But, there are some other things to consider with this cookware set as well. The first is that the stockpot that comes with the set is only 6 quarts. So it won’t be able to hold very much, and it’s definitely not as big as you’ll get with most other hard anodized cookware sets. Also, this set was reviewed in a foodie magazine (we still cannot find the name of the magazine that reviewed it) in 2009, and that magazine found that this set came with a few durability issues, so it may not last you as long as you would like. And even though this is still one of the cheapest hard anodized sets of cookware you’ll find, it’s still set at a hefty price that you probably don’t want to have to pay again when your first set starts to break down and become damaged.
EarthPan hard anodized cookware is a good manufacturer to choose if you are always looking for eco-friendly products. But be warned that this set will probably not last you very long, and that it is still covered in a coating that will flake and peel, even if that coating is not as dangerous as other types.
